Espheric: Spherical Capture Drone

Espheric: Spherical Capture Drone

For those of you that are in touch with me, you know something's been up. I've been secretive. I changed the locks on my garage. I've been wearing thicker eye protection and looking up at the sky nervously.  Well, now that the patents are filed, I decided we may as well share the latest invention: Espheric.

It's a camera mount that fits around a drone, and supports cameras that look in every direction at once. The rigid frame holds them aligned so that the final image can be stitched into a spherical look-around point of view, and the drone inside is invisible. It's pretty cool, and I think it will be a great product for the film industry, architectural scanning, scenic photograpy, or any other person interested in capturing a spherical POV from the air. It also has emergency logistics and military implications.

Espheric C8 holds eight gopro session cameras on a rigid frame around vibration-dampened airframe.

Check out the project video here on Youtube. Make sure your web browser is up to date so that the spherical view plugin is working!

You can see some other spherical views we captured from the air here at espheric.com. I'm very excited to finally be able to share this. No, it's not in stores yet. No, it's not going to be on kickstarter or indiegogo. Yes, we are interested in serious strategic partnerships. Are you a potential partner? Please contact me. I'll buy you a cup of coffee and we can talk. :-)
